Any article, poetry, prose, story or reviews may be reused, quoted in full or as an excerpt only with attribution to "Source: mulshankar13". धरती के तकिये पर अपना सर रख समुंदर को रोते देखा है कभी? रात को जब  सब शांत सो जाते हैं! दिन भर की बातें याद कर भूली बिस्री रातें याद कर! वह बचपन जब पहाड़ों पर एक पतली धारा किल्कारियाँ मारती थी ! वह यौवन जब नदी बन समतल पर अंगराईयाँ लेती थी ! हर्ष-विषाद अपमान-सम्मान स्वार्थ-परमार्थ पक्षपात-यज्ञ! इन वेदनाओं की व्याकुलता कठिनता परंतु अर्ध-सफलता से अपने अथाह हृदय में समेटे, धरती के तकिये पर अपना सर रख समुंदर को रोते देखा है कभी? रात को जब  सब शांत सो जाते हैं! फिर भी कभी करवट लेते उसके कुछ गरम आँसू आँखों के कोनों से निकल उसके कपोलों के रेत की सुर्ख़ियों में कहीं निःशब्द छुप जाते हैं! धरती के तकिये पर अपना सर रख समुंदर को रोते देखा है कभी? रात को जब  सब शांत सो जाते हैं

Play Review: The Djinns of Eidgah

Play Review: The Djinns of Eidgah Date: August 16, 2013 Venue: Hindu Theatre Fest 2013 Bengaluru Review: Emotions-aspirations, hope-despair, freedom-abhorrence all seemed to be as intertwined as elflocks into the lives of the Kashmiri hoi polloi, in this masterpiece by Abhishek Majumdar. The Djinns wended through the beaded curtain surreally quick only to bloom hope through flying carpets for orphaned Ashrafiya on one hand, while to haunt Dr. Baig of memories  of his now exanimate son, to the violence in Kashmir. The cacophony of thumping boots, mourning procession, gun-shots, shrieks and pale lightning, all kaleidoscopically brought the confusion and melancholy prevailing at the valley down to Bengaluru. Bilal, Coach and the two Indian sentries leave an indelible imprint through their performance.

Any article, poetry, prose, story or reviews may be reused, quoted in full or as an excerpt only with attribution to "Source: mulshankar13". माँ ! कभी  कभी  यूँ ही इस युवास्था में बचपन की ओर करवट ले सो जाता हूँ ! आँख बंद हैं, होठों पे मुस्कान  खेल खिलौनों चीजों की! वह कुंटे से लटकी गुड़िया  स्मरण स्मृति के धागों में ! माँ ! कभी कभी यूँ ही इस युवास्था में लालच प्रेणित निर्मल यादों की ओर करवट ले सो जाता हूँ ! रंग बिरंगे पैजामें  रेशम्दार कुर्ता था टंगा  हुआ! टिम टिम करते बिजली के जूते सब थें आकांक्षाओं कि खाली मुट्ठी में! माँ! कभी कभी यूँ ही इस युवास्था में उस करुणामय हठ की ओर करवट ले सो जाता हूँ! कुंटे से लटकी गुड़िया तोड़ कुर्ते पैजामें जूते छोड़! आज नहीं कल फिर आएंगे भाग चलें थें गरम जलेबी के बहकावे में! माँ! कभी कभी यूँ ही इस युवास्था में उन गरम जलेबियों की ओर करवट ले सो जाता हूँ! मेरा मुन्ना है उस

बूझो तो जाने आग जला अंगीठी पर रोटी ठंडी पर गयी है ! हीरा तोड़ कोयला कूटेंगे आटा गू न्थेंगे ठंडी रोटी से !

Any article, poetry, prose, story or reviews may be reused, quoted in full or as an excerpt only with attribution to "Source: mulshankar13". अभी सुबह होने में कुछ घंटे बाकी थें नींद बस यूँ ही  खुल गयी थी ! बगल में हाथ फैलाया तो तुम नहीं थी ! बिस्तर की सिलवटें कुछ यूँ बिखरी पड़ी थीं , मानों तुम वहाँ से अभी उठी हो ; गुसल खाने की ओर देखा तो बत्ती बंद पड़ी थी रसोई से कुछ बर्तनों के खनकने की आवाज़ आ रही थी ; जाकर देखा तो कुछ भी नहीं था कोई नहीं था ,तुम नहीं, तुम्हारी परछाईं भी नहीं ! सपना था शायद मेरी  नींद यूँ ही खुल गयी थी ! बिस्तर की सिलवटों में तुम नहीं थी तुम्हारी यादें होंगी ! अगर तुम सच में उन सिलवटों में होती तो मेरे हथेली की रेखाएँ इतनी स्पष्ट ना होती ! तुम्हारे चहरे की सुर्ख़ियों से उलझ  कुछ नर्म पड़ गई होतीं ! मेरी नींद यूँ ही खुल गयी थी बिस्तर की सिलवटों में तुम नहीं थी ज़रूर तुम्हारी यादें हों

It’s not just the wedding of Salim that goes wrong but dreams, aspirations, loyalties and principals that surrender to the indiscriminate spray of bullets. The sarcasm from the characters though humorous on the surface yet deep at the bosom of their hearts manifests as the pain of the foregone moonlit nights now eclipsed forever by bullets and choppers and can’t be obliterated. The script keeps on moving nostalgically between past and present highlighting the differences between the intoxicating beer of London and the glass shred in the cornea of Baghdad. Play: Woyzeck The Hindu Theater Fest 23 August 2012 at Chowdiah Memorial Hall in Bangalore “Love-Lust-Infidelity-Revenge-Remorse”, is a vicious cycle of emotions which have been so ruthlessly true from stone-age and more common in the age of “Short- Message-Service”. Woyzeck a poor German soldier is betrayed by his mistress to his sergeant major. He decides to take revenge and kills his mistress Marie who was actually by then remorseful for her actions. If talked as above, Woyzeck would have just passed on as another performance. But it doesn’t. The play though advertised as Korean speaks no language but emotions. The characters, the props (chairs) add to the emotional intensity that keeps the audience spellbound yet curious. The music adds to the intensity of emotions and evokes melody, intimidation, reproach and pity all at the same time yet in isolation. A Walk In The Woods Note: This is an independent review of the play held on August 17 2012 at Chowdiah Memorial Hall. The Play: A Walk In The Woods The Cast: Rajit Kapur and Naseeruddin Shah History: This play has been adapted from the original with the same name by Lee Blessing. Lee was inspired by a real incident happened in 1982 in Geneva when the two negotiators Paul H. Nitze (USA) and Yuli A. Kvitsinsky (USSR) left for an unofficial walk in the woods and came up with a breakthrough. The breakthrough was rejected pretty soon by their respective governments. This piece of USA-USSR history draws tremendous parallels to that of India-Pakistan and the duo Faishal Rashid and Randeep Hooda do just an impeccable job there in this sub-continental adaptation of the play.
